The letters cause Adeline to decide if she wants to continue living the life she knows or to make an irreversible decision to fulfill her curiosity and move to Qpana. Her Father describes this other world as unimaginable, impossible and magical. Adeline discovers that her decisions have consequences. She is never fully sure who she can trust as various life changing secrets continue to be divulged. Will her new life be better and include stronger relationships than what she left behind?

 

At a first glance, Qpana is a perfect commonwealth where everyone works together to ensure all residents have access to anything they could ever imagine. Adeline lives an extraordinary life, but as time progresses, certain people cast their true colors and the cracks in the utopia reveal themselves. The novel pulls at themes of love and loss, transformation, burdens, mystery, creative whimsy, trust and relationships.
